Duterte skips APEC gala dinner

President Rodrigo Duterte missed the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Gala Dinner of world leaders in Lima Peru on Sunday (Manila time) November 20, because he doesn’t feel well, announced by one of spokesperson.

According to Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar, the absence of Duterte was replaced by foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto Yasay Jr. and represented the president in the said dinner.

Andanar affirmed to reporters “Masama pakiramdam,” when they ask why the president didn’t make it to one of the highlights of APEC summit.

The said dinner could have been a great avenue for Duterte to talk to other APEC leaders to discuss possible agreements.

Duterte’s favorite punching bag, US President Barack Obama was present during the dinner at the Parque de la Reserva.

Meanwhile, Duterte fulfilled one of his APEC goals when he was able to talk with his idol, Russian president Vladimir Putin.

In a TV coverage aired at ABS-CBN News, Duterte confide his thoughts about the “bullying” act of the US to the Philippines.
