Marcos finally laid to rest at Libingan ng mga Bayani

The late President Ferdinand Marcos has been laid to rest at the Libingan ng mga Bayani at Friday noon, November 18.

His remains was flown from Laoag, Ilocos Norte and arrived at the LnmB at 11:30 in the morning with burial rites conducted shortly after.

The Philippine National Police confirmed the said burial to the public earlier this morning at 10.

National Capital Region Police Officer chief Director Oscar Albayalde said that there was a meeting between him and Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos and talked about the decision.

The media had no access inside the cemetery complementing the request of the Marcos family to keep the burial private and held in confidentiality.

In a press conference aired by DZMM, Gov. Imee Marcos explained that they wanted to have a simple, quiet, and peaceful burial for the late president.

“Nagpapasalamat kami sa inyong lahat,” Imee added.

Marcos was accorded military honors, including a 21-gun salute.
