WATCH! Imee says Marcos burial is only for peace and quiet

Eldest child of late President Ferdinand Marcos said that her father’s burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (LNB) is not intended for revising history.

Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos said the cases filed against her father and Marcos family are not included in the Supreme Court ruling to allow the said burial.

"We’re not setting it aside, we’re not rewriting history, we’re not changing the truth. The cases continue to be pending, andyan pa rin sila. We continue to fight them in court, we are still defending ourselves and defending his memory. But in the end, the courts will once again decide," she said.

The governor revealed that the burial was her father’s last wish, which intends to promote peace and quiet.

She added that this burial is only for peace and quiet, and they will fight the cases filed against them, and will present all the evidence needed.

Imee quoted “"Ito, libing lang. 'Yun lang naman ang pinag-uusapan sa ngayon, and the Supreme Court was very clear on that—that in fact, they were ruling on a human being who was neither white or black, who was not completely perfect perhaps, but in the end had an absolute right to be buried in the Libingan ng mga Bayani.”
