Duterte-Trump bond leads to ‘improving’ PH-US relationship

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and US President-elect Donald Trump established an understanding during a phone conversation which leads to an improving relation between these two countries according to Malacañang, December 3.

Like lovers, these two alike-leaders seemed to have a mutual understanding.

“We can say at this stage, that our relationship with the US is improving,” Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella said in a statement.

Duterte called Trump to extend his congratulations on his victory for the US presidential race on Friday, December 2.

Looking back, Duterte seemed to have a bad blood for the outgoing President Barack Obama who condemned his war on drugs, but lately he said he can feel a good rapport with the incoming president.

Trump also won Duterte’s heart when he wished the Philippine leader well on his  strong will to fight illegal drugs. According to Duterte, Trump told him that the Philippine government was doing is as a sovereign nation, the right away.
