Leni says she has no plan to become a president

Vice President Leni Robredo emphasized on December 9 that she is not interested to become the president of the country after issue came out that the Liberal Party is plotting the ouster of President Rodrigo Duterte.


"Parati ko iyon inuulit, before until now. Wala naman ako ganoong pangarap," Robredo answered reporters when asked about Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano's comment that she is fighting to become the president.

Several days after her reaignation, Duterte speculated that the liberal party which the party where the VP belongs is planning a presidential ouster.

However, Leni said she is now the unifying voice of the opposition and takes the role of the opposition leader.

"Ako iyong unifying the opposition, unifying the voices of the dissent. Hindi ito opposition against the administration per se, pero opposition against certain policies of the administration that we do not agree with," she exclaimed.

Robredo also stressed that the alleged plot for the president oust is not real.

"Ako siguro kung may totoong Oust Duterte plot, ngayon, bubwelo na ako eh. Pero ngayon mismo sa aking oartido sabi ko na maging supportive tayo sa mga policies ng Pangulo na we agree with, mag- oppose lang tayo doon sa mga kontra tayo," she added.

She said in her concluding statement that she only wanted to be heard nothing more.
