President Rodrigo Duterte affirmed that he will stepped down in his seat once the Philippines transitions into a federal government in his speech during the 3rd  Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Local Government Summit in Davao City.


The president urged House Speaker Pantaleon “Bobet” Alvarez to fast track the process in the legislative branch.

“Sabi ko sa kanaila, ‘Bot dalian ninyon ‘yan.’ Sabi ko matapos kayo ng dalawa, tatlong taon, I will step down as president, you can have my word, itaya ninyo ‘yan,” the President narrated.

In his speech, Duterte also described his tiring days as the president.

Being the oldest president the Philippines has ever had, he admitted that he has no choice but to do his job.

“Sa pagod mo, pagdating mo, lahat ng department diyan sila may folder. Defense, foreign affairs, galing kay Dabs. Basahin ko ‘yan gabi-gabi. Ako maglalagay, “OK” o “Disapprove,” Dutrete shared.

The President is nocturnal worker since he is awake up to the late evening, and sleep past midnight, and wakes up every 12 noon.

During his first days being the President, Duterte defined his residence, Bahay Pangarap makes him lonely.
