Bishop Bacani replies to Duterte: Parang sira I pray for him

Novaliches Bishop Emeritus Teodoro Bacani Jr. answered back President Rodrigo Duterte on January 25 regarding his view on accusing the Catholic prelate of possessing two wives.

“If he said that, I pity him. Parang sira. I pray for him,” said Bishop via text message.

The bishop also added that if Duterte were not immune from suit, he would sue him for defamation and libel.

In a dialogue with the relatives of 44 slain police officers who died in the Mamasapano clash in 2015, the President called the Catholic Church in the Philippines as “full of shit.”

It can be recalled that Duterte has been accusing the leadership of the church which has been a great critic of the President’s war on drugs.

Last Tuesday, Duterte named Bacani has been criticized in his speech.

"Ang opening remarks si Bacani. P— inang Bacani na iyan, dalawa pala ang asawa. Pareho ko. Parang mayor din ang buang. Tapos kung magsalita itong mga unggoy na ito, 't— ina," said Duterte.

Bacani commented to Duterte’s remarks that “I do not have even one wife. I hope anyone who says I have two will produce even one. Poor guys who can only use lies versus truth.”

Bacani earlier in his speech labeled the Philippine National Police as “bringer of death.”
