Presidential sister Jocellyn Duterte's Open Letter to Winnie Monsod's commentary about his brother’s war on drugs

Presidential sister Jocellyn Roa Duterte commented on Winnie Monsod’s commentary about his brother’s war on drugs using her Facebook account on January 10, 2017.

Roa-Duterte said she respected Monsod because of her high credibility but she disappointed her on the latter part because of his ‘opposing’ comments on the war on drugs.

“Ms Madam Monsod, you are a credible and respected public figure in this country but when I read your commentary about the president losing the drug war, I was shocked and terribly disappointed that you of all people would put out a statement short of opposing the war on drugs!” Jocellyn emphasized.

The presidential sister also explained that drug menace destroyed our country, and so his brother, President Duterte is doing his best to fix everything.

“Let us just be glad that we have a president who is all out to save this country from a dangerous enemy so potent, it would kill and destroy millions ... Once addicted to drugs, from a ratio of one to ten, we would be lucky if one would be totally rehabilitated!...it would then become a health issue, not to mention the burden on our economy,” she added.

At the end of her opinion, Jocellyn urged people to support our President instead of criticizing him. We can support him trough educating and promoting each other’s awareness about drug addiction.

The drug menace has permeated all sectors of our society. ...I don't know how much you know about drug addiction but what I have seen in my own personal capacity among friends, their children, and grandchildren and relatives...it will destroy this country and the the future of the generation to come!!!

Let us not make this a POLITICAL ISSUE!!!

Let us just be glad that we have a president who is all out to save this country from a dangerous enemy so potent, it would kill and destroy millions ... Once addicted to drugs, from a ratio of one to ten, we would be lucky if one would be totally rehabilitated!...it would then become a health issue, not to mention the burden on our economy.

The president alloted another one billion for medicine to the rehabilitation of drug dependents...such a waste indeed, when that money could be used to alleviate the poor and the needy and the marginalized sector, the poor of the poorest...

Let us all support our President and our country from this plague, through education and awareness of drug addiction... the best way to start it is in the home...
