Kris Aquino pleads Duterte: Please don’t jail my brother

Ex-presidential sister Kris Aquino has reached out to President Rodrigo Duterte asking him not to put her brother, former President Noynoy Aquio behind the bars for the botched Mamasapano mission where 44 Special Action Forces died two years ago.

In the speech of the President held on February 6, he revealed Kris texted him saying “huwag naman ipakulong so…(don’t jail my)” referring to her brother.

“I am not out to find fault, I’m just to find out the truth,” Duterte answered her on what happened on January 25, 2015 when SAF troopers died waiting in vain for military air support which did not arrive.

He questioned why no chopper with rocket launchers were deployed to help the SAF troopers who were gunned down like fish in a barrel by Moro rebels and bandits. “I did not ask who made a mistake or who received (the reward money),” said Duterte.

Kris made her appeal when the President announced he decided to drop his plan to form a fact-finding committee to find answers to the questions in the Mamasapano incident.

Duterte explained that the Ombudsman has a pending probe on the Mamasapano massacre and he wanted to avoid having incongruous finding from two bodies.
