WATCH: 911 response team originates from Davao City under Duterte’s leadership as a Mayor

“Bawal ang mabagal”. This has been the mantra of 911 Response Team or Davao City 911 which offers health services and acts as the response team in times of accidents and emergencies.


“Regardless if medically related or traumatic yung mga accidents, dapat 59 seconds or less dapat nakaalis na kami,” 911 Commander-in-Chief John Raymund Ang said.

 The Davao City 911 has 19 ambulance vans, 1 ambulance bus, and number of fire trucks.

911 response team uses the ambulance bus for accidents with many victims and serves as the treatment area. Inside it has stretchers, ultrasound amchine, oxygen, cardiac monitors, and could accommodate 15 patients.

The ambulance van on the other hand are being used to rush critical patients in the nearest hospital. The response team has a separate ambuolance van which is solely for babies and pedia patients which has incubator and child friendly environment to lessen the stress and fear of the patients.

Commands given to the response team are being relayed by their own call centers. In case of traffic, the Traffic Operations Center monitors the route and place of the incidents.

In addition, it also has intelligence officers who monitor crimes in the area.

“Ang kagandahan, walang kotong, walang away sa daan. Mas makokontrol ang krimen, mas medaling makaka responde ang mga pulis sa krime,” Rizalio Cinco of the Traffic Operations said.

According to Cinco, 911 response team were realized because of the strong political will of President Rodrigo Duterte and became his pet project when he was still the Davao City Mayor.
