Duterte pledge to give full support to troops fighting the Maute group

President Rodrigo Duterte promised full support for government troops defending our country and its countrymen from the Maute Group in Marawi City.

During a short talk with the 2'd Mechanized Infantry Brigade in Maria Cristina, Iligan City on May 26, the President said he is looking for funds to support them.

"May full suppost kayo sa akin. I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel to look for money to see you through," said Duterte.

"And because we have the weapons and equipment and we have the air assets to help you, we will try our very best na magamit lahat to protect you at the time when you are fighting," Duterte vowed to the soldiers.

With regards to the Martial Law in Mindanao, he promised to take all the responsibilities whatever the outcome may be.

"Sasamahan ko kayo. If you go down, I go down. But for this martial law and the consequences of martial law and the ramifications of martial law, I and I alone would be responsible. Trabaho lang kayo, ako ng bahala," he added.

Duterte also mentioned that there is a modernized hospital with complete equipment for the wounded soldiers.

Each wounded soldier has received a total of P100,000.00 in check.

For the dead uniformed personnel, their families will receive P250,000.00 assistance upon the completion of requirements.
