AFP challenges millennials to join ROTC instead of being keyboard warriors

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) receives a lot of criticisms mostly from millennials for its failure to resolve the on going crisis in Marawi City 23 days after President Rodrigo Duterte placed Mindanao under Martial Law.

Spokesperson Restituto Padilla on the other hand shrugged of the nasty remarks as borne out of the youth's impatience and short attention span.

According to Padilla, the millennials are used to grab and have things instantly.

The AFP chief added the well-executed plan of Maute and Abu Sayyaf groups to take control of commercial centers and they jails, they also used human shields and secret tunnels to frustrate soldiers on their heels.

Padilla also stressed the soldiers were more skilled in fighting within jungles rather than the urban areas.

He also asked patience because they also consider the safety of the armed personnel.

"So it will entail a bit of time before we clear every house of any armed element.

Along with these, he challenged the millennials to be away from their mobile phones and posting rants, rather they should sign up for Reserve officers Training Course (ROTC) so they would not just be keyboard warriors.
