The controversial chief described the rumors as "malicious speculations" which gone viral last week saying Duterte was seriously ill and has been confined in hospital and was partly paralyzed.
“Unfortunately, some of those who are inquiring as to the state of his health were clearly engaged in misinformation or disinformation to mislead the public with the end in view of destabilizing the government,” said Aguirre pointing out that he receive queries about Rody's health.
He added that the people behind the destabilization plot wanted to create a wrong impression that Duterte was in a serious health condition.
The DOJ sec also rejected demands from Se. Leila de Lima for the Malacañang to disclose the status of the President's health following his week long absence from the public eye since the 2017 Independence Day celebration.
“It is not required by the Constitution to always disclose the health of the President. It is only in cases of serious illness that the President is required to disclose his illness, which isn’t the case with President Duterte,”
Aguirre added the President just took some time to rest after the overwhelming happenings in the country capped by the Marawi siege.
