This information was disclosed by Jose Manuel "Babe" Romualdez, Philippine Star columnist and media executive who is popular for his extensive connections with the powers-that-be in the US.

In his recent column published June 18, Romualdez mentioned that a "friend" from Washington told him that the CIA had to cross check the reports about the health of the president since there were deathly rumors spreading about him.

On the other hand, the columnist also cited that Duterte had tot ake a rest because he was tired from his recent trips abroad.

Romualdez alsop believes that DUterte's recent trip to Russia last may which had been cut short due to the Marawi sige, must have been the trigger for his fatigue since thet flight was 14 hours long.

In an old age of 72, Duterte returned to his public duties on June 17 during the celebration of the 50th founding anniversary of Agusan Del Norte and meeting with troops in Butuan City.

Duterte also joked he was never in coma but was just staying in his "kama" which is bed in English, the entire time he was not seen in public.
