In his speech during the Go Negosyo's event at the palace, Duterte mentioned in front of the families of the bereaved soldiers his near to death experience at the hands of the New People's Army (NPA).

The President stressed he thought he would die when he was captured by some of the NPA members when he was a prosecutor.

Duterte recalled the rebels brought him back then to a kangaroo court where he was identified as the person who wanted to jail the NPA.

Rody shared he said to the rebels that it was his job to do so.

"Ang aking mandato is  to put you behind bars.Trabaho ko yan eh. Pero pag pinatay ninyo ako, okay lang. Basta sabihin lang ninyo sa mundo na pinatay namin itong taong to dahilkalaban sa gobyerno at nagtatrabaho siya sa trabaho niya, he added.

On the other hand, he didn't tell the ending of the  story.

Up ot date, Duterte is known hating the communists and the rebels  and it's one of his platforms since the campaign period.
