Kian's death is an eye-opener to people that death is inevitable: Kian's mom

The mother of slain Kian Loyd delos Santos composed herself to be positive despite her pain for losing his son over his death.

In a GMA news TV report, Lorenza delos Santos, Kian's mom said she's happy that Kian was used as an eye-opener for people that death is inevitable.

The grieving mother recalled that during the Senate hearing about his son's death last Thursday, she had looked straight in the eyes of the police offiers involved in the bloody Oplan Galugad.

She remained unshaken with the thought that her son was innocent and it was impossible that the teenager had been involved in illegal activities such as the drug trade.

The mother described Kian as  a sweet and loving son, jolly and never been into trouble.

"Mismong principal or mismong mga kababata niya na kinalikahan niya ni hindi na-involve na nakipagaway," she added.

On the other hand, Kian's relatives from Aklan province went to their residence in Caloocan City to pay their last respects for the Grade 12 student.

Kaya kami halos mangutang kami para lang makapunta dito... masilayan," said one of Kian's relatives.

Police claimed they had killed Kian in self-defense after the teenager, who was an alleged drug-runner tried to resist arrest  by firing at them during the operation.

Kian's family, however, a CCTV footage would prove that he could not have run away as he was being dragged by cops after his apprehension.
