READ and WATCH: Comelec Chair Bautista answers his wife over alleged ill-gotten wealth

Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Chairman Andres 'Andy' Bautitsta denied his wife's alleagtion over his ill-gotten wealth amounting to nearly P1 Billion, saying it is part of her attempt to extort him.




Bautista said the accusation of his iwfe, Patricia  Paz 'Tish' Bautista,thathe kept certain bank accounts and owned some pieces of property that he failed to declare in his 2016 Statement of Astes, Liabilities, and Net WOrth (SALN) was a complete lie.

"It's a complete lie," said Bautitsta.

"Matagal na po kaming may problemang mag-asawa na ngayon ay nababahiran ng pultika. Ito ay isang kaso ng pangingikil at panggigipit," said Bautista in a statement aired in DZMM Radio, August 7.

Bautista also shared that hsi wife asked for a settlement from him with an amount of P620 million which he rejected because he could not afford it.

“I don’t think it was that many. These monies don’t all belong to me. Most of them belong to my parents, to my brother and sister," answering his wife specific allegations thathe kept several passbooks with Luzon Development Bank.

“That’s a complete lie,” he said. “I don’t have that. If she can produce it, it’s all hers,” he added.
