Satur Ocampo says Duterte didn't save Judy from CA rejection because he is a trapo

The rejection of Judy Taguiwalo as the Secretary of Department of Social Welfare and Development is still a big fuzz in the country while the Commission on Appointments chose not only to be silent but they did not also stated why she was not reappointed.

However, former Bayan Muna Representative Satur Ocampo has a big question for President Rodrigo Duterte why he has not uttered a word in Judy's behalf which could have tipped the balace in her favor.

In his recent column published in Philippine Star, Ocampo pointed out Duterte's silece is a result of his shift from a self-styled socialist to his self-discovery of his true DNA as a traditional politician or trapo in layman's term.

"Recent events indicate that the overarching factor that pushed her out of the Cabinet-and probably, the same might happen to Department of Agrarian Reform Secretary Rafael Mariano, who will also face CA on August 30- is President Duterte's shift in political stance," as read in his column.

He described Duterte as a politician whose familiar tools of trade are horse-trading and dispensing patronage in order to strengthen his hold on power.

"Or, more aptly, put, his unravelling  from a self-proclaimed socialist who offered to work with the Left to institute deep-going changes in government and society to what he inherently is: a politician whose  familiar tools of trade are horse-trading and dispensing patronage in order to strengthen his hold on power," said Ocampo.

On the other hand, Taguiwalo claims that one reasons why the CA members, particularly the House bloc, didn't like her was she declined the congressmen's demand to have a direct access to the DSWD's social finds just like the old days before the Supreme Court outlawed the pork barrel system.
