READ: Asec Mocha explains difference between Rappler and Mindavote blog

Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Asec. Mocha Uson revealed the difference between Rappler and Mindavote blog exclaiming it's just about funding.

With more than seven million followers, Mocha in her Facebook page uploaded a screenshot image of a news from online media source Rappler about the article entitled Omidyar Network invests in Rappler.

According to the PCOO Asec there is no significant difference between the two when it comes to features. Features mentioned y Mocha include online base, tv station, website, writers, prints, radio station, social media, and news organization.

"GUESS WHAT ANG PINAGKAIBA NILA?  Clue- see pic  Yan ba ang pinagkaiba kaya pwede silang i-clasify as MAINSTREAM MEDIA?? Kasi well funded?" Mocha added.

In a separate post, Mocha also uploaded a scanned copy of her letter request addressed to PCOO secretary Martin Andanar to reclassify and move the said outlet from Malacañang Press Corp to Social Media.

Meanwhile, Rappler said Uson's request is misinformed and misplaced due to the constitution grants them press freedom.

"Rappler meets the qualifications for membership to the MPC, as stipulated in its bylaws. The PCOO cannot unilaterally decide on the expulsion or reclassification of any member of the MPC from the organization.," as said in their article.

Uson responded saying the reclassification would not impede Rappler's freedom of speech.
