Bonbong Marcos says he will not run for senate in 2019

Former Senator Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. said he will not run for the 2019 senatorial race in order to finish his electoral protest against Vice President Leni Robredo.

I am not running for Senate in 2019. Tatapusin ko ang petisyong ito dahil naniniwala ako na tapat ang aking laban… I am determined to finish with this petition. Hindi ko titigilan ito,” Marcos declared in the weekly “Kapihan sa Manila Bay”  on Wednesday.

The ex senator also exclaimed that the most important is to find answers for the questions "Ano ba talaga ang tamang resulta? Sino ba talaga ang nanalo?"

Meanwhile, the younger Marcos answered even an endorsment from President Rodrigo Duterte won't stop him for pursuing his protest to the question if he would be included in the slate of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).

“I don’t see any reason why I would change my mind. Why would I run for senator, I already won as vice president,” he also stressed.

Bongbong has accused Robredo of cheating after he lost to her by over 230,000 votes.
